Strategy and Experience Chair
Remember the pandemic? I try not to either.
One of the pandemic's first casualties was the long-running and beloved Design Week Portland – an annual tentpole for the commercial art and design communities in Portland, Oregon.
As we emerged from the masks and PJs and piles of sourdough, the design and commercial art communities of Portland began to think about how to replace our beloved lost week where we celebrated our craft and shared what we were thinking about with each other.
The result was a festival where we took the parts of DWP we adored and welcomed a community, already itching to leave the house, back into the streets (and agencies, and bars, all safely) for 100+ events, keynotes, galleries, and open houses, all to have the chance to inspire one another once again.
(And we were so successful, the next year it expanded to a whole month.)
